😱Wait… My 5-year-old grandson requested ā€œKevin Pizzaā€ šŸ•šŸ•

and I knew EXACTLY what he meant! šŸŽ¬šŸ•

(Yes… just like in Home Alone!)


So for our weekly Friday pizza night, Dee Dee made his movie-inspired version — and it was a HOME RUN with TJā£ļø


Making this at home is:āœ”ļø Cheaperāœ”ļø Crunchierāœ”ļø And honestly… more delicious

No pizza oven needed — just one simple trick:PREBAKE the crust + cheese first = no soggy pizza!

šŸ•Ā SIMPLE RECIPE BREAKDOWN

Kevin McCallister Inspired Thin Crust Pizza

• Pizza dough (homemade, frozen, or pizzeria dough)• Marinara sauce (short cut - add 1 tsp oregano)• Shredded mozzarella cheese• Grated parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F

  2. Stretch dough into thin crust

  3. Prebake crust for 5 minutes

  4. Add cheese FIRST (prevents soggy pizza – pro tip!)

  5. Add a light layer of marinara with oregano

  6. Sprinkle parmesan

  7. Bake 5 minutes on bottom rack

  8. Finish 2–3 minutes on top rack for crispiness

SO crunchy. So simple. So nostalgic.



ā€œ KEVIN’sā€ Pizza


Pizza Sauce


2 large garlic cloves, chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

Cook over low heatIn medium saucepan, and simmer until fragrant , about 1 minute. Ā 


1 can (32 ounces) Italian-style plum tomatoes, pureed in blender

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper

Add and cook over medium heat about 20Ā  minutes. Let cool. Makes about 3 1/2 cups.


Pizza Dough For Thin Crust


1/4 cup Extra virgin olive oil, divided

2 tablespoons cornmeal

3/4 teaspoon dry yeast

2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose*

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water*

1/4 cupĀ 


Drizzle 12 -inch pizza pan and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with cornmeal or polenta.


With hook attachment ,in large bowl of electric mixer, combine yeast, flour and salt.

Mix on low speed just 1 minute.


Add warm water and mix on medium speed about 8 minutes or until dough soft and smooth.Ā  If dough is sticky just add a a little more flour.


Shape dough into a ball and cut in half. Shape and stretchĀ  into 2 balls and place on parchment lined sheet pan or counter. Drizzle withĀ  remaining olive oil and cover with plastic wrap or kitchen towel.

Let rise in warm place in kitchen for 2 hours or until double in size.


Press 1 ballĀ  into prepared pan. Repeat with second ball or freeze for another day. Just defrost the night before on the refrigerator. Dough can freeze for 2 months.


Sprinkle one dough with 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese.


Bake at 475 degree oven for 5 to 8 minutes or until slightly golden.

TIPS:

* Water temperature should be between 105-115 ĀŗF.

Ā Ā  Be careful that the water isn’t too hot or it will kiil your yeast and destroy their rising Ā  Ā  power! Ā 

**Substitute one cup of the all-purpose flour with 00 flour or bread flour for a more dense and chewy crust.

Can keep in refrigerator until ready to use for one day , covered . Allow to bring to room temperature ,before using.
