Happy Fall !
My daughters loved unwrapping the caramels the night before our big Halloween party every year since it made them even more excited for the festivities to come. Have the kids make their own and they’ll love them even more. Use these suggested toppings or have fun coming up with your own!
Caramel Dipped Apples
1 package (11 ounces) caramels
Melt caramels according to package directions.
4 apples
4 wooden pop sticks*
Wash and dry apples thoroughly so caramel adheres to them.
Place wooden pop stick into stems of each apple.
Dip apples according to package directions.
Topping suggestions:
Assorted nuts, chopped
Chocolate sandwich cookies or orange colored sandwich cookies, chopped
Pretzels, chopped
Decorative sprinkles
Mini marshmallows
Candy bars, chopped
Flaked coconut
Candy corn
Candy coated chocolates
White, dark or milk chocolate, melted
Dip apples in desired toppings. Drizzle with melted chocolates.
Makes 4 caramel apples.
* TIP: Substitute wooden pop sticks with cinnamon sticks for a festive look!
TIP: Have each apple inserted with a wooden pop stick on individual parchment covered paper plates so kids can easily bring them home after they dip them.
